Blindsided

He has been in my life for ten years, two months, 18 days and some odd hours…

He’s wiped my tears, hugged me in joyous celebration, spent nights awake wondering what was wrong with me when I was deathly sick…

He has been a mentor, a friend, an uncle, a voice of reason in my family…

He is the best boss a person could ever ask for, he is head honcho at our Healthcare network, and he has inoperable throat cancer…

Radiation and Chemo is as aggressive as it comes – six weeks of non-stop treatment

” Hey there Jefe,” I asked, “how you feelin’ today?”

“The throat is starting to be the rate limiting factor,” he wrote back “…I don’t think I will be able to go to work at this point…miss you and all of our projects together…”
