What I miss in Muslims

What do I miss:

Three dimensional humans – we have a few cardboard cut-ups that repeat whatever everyone else says and does…their world is “flat”…

Tolerance- There is more racism than we dare, care to admit – the more Arab you are on the outside – the more you think you will be accepted… but Allah chose you to be Muslim for who you were (for those who converted) /are (for those born into the Faith), yet you changed; but did that make you a better person? If it did – celebrate it! If it didn’t, well…

Social Filters – things that go out the door – we think we need to get into every other person’s beeswax… and as a Muslim we believe we are entitled to give an opinion on someone else’s life of what we think we see or hear …

Discretion – part of social filters I guess…

Choices – I call it the Black and White Syndrome- everything is or isn’t-no shades of gray-no brilliant colors- no pastels-its got flavor or its flat- we do or we don’t-we group think or we don’t think at all – we love it or we hate it- no exceptions but the absolute…

Relativity – Einstein’s theory or otherwise – what was true 1400 years ago must be the same now; the Far East is the West…everything is the West…

Imagination – if you have it someone is always knocking it…

Creativity – read somewhere that Muslims shouldn’t have a creative or innovative bone (???) – if you do, knocking it down will be the least of your worries…

Humor – a smile or laughter is sure to set someone off…

A voice – if it comes from a woman – either its a woman telling you to shut up; or its a man telling you to shut up… and if that doesn’t work you are demonized in some shape or form…

Peace – someone will always find a reason to mess it up; even it is just a moment of solace; a moment of reflection; of introspection…If everyday of your prayers in a mosque have been quiet ones since the very FIRST time you ever stepped into a masjid – this doesn’t apply…

An opinion – your own…
